To attend to the general dispensing work of the Hospital, and, in the absence of the Apothecary, to take charge of dispensing.
Duties of Office, and Qualifications required for their performance.
Must hold a major diploma, be a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, and possess testimonials as to ability to manufacture Pharmacopoeial preparations.
Will be required to assist in the instruction of two Chinese students in Pharmacy.
For this purpose, it is not necessary that he should possess a knowledge of Chinese.
Salary and Emoluments:
$960 per annum, rising by annual increments of $48 to $1,200.
Other circumstances affecting the value of the office.
Nature, number, and amount of emoluments.
If the Secretary of the Pharmaceutical Society in London is communicated with, a quite candidate will doubtless be obtained.

Whether any, and if any, what quarters, light, and fuel will be provided with bachelor quarters at the Govt Civil Hospital.
Terms of service: three years with return passage.
But if the Govt find it necessary, and the candidate is desirous of continuing in the service, he will be permitted to continue therein, subject to the usual regulations applicable to the Civil Service.
Provision is made from public funds for the passage from this country, or elsewhere, of the persons sent out to fill the office.
Acts or Ordinances making provision respecting any of the above matters, and especially respecting the permanency of the emoluments, and the particulars of the security required, with references to the sections in which such provision is made.
